The Lakes and Trails Festival includes a free lunch for all attendees. After a morning of paddling, walking, cycling or just providing encouragement, everyone is welcome to stay for a free lunch, listen to a live concert and share stories.
This year the lunch will be fresh local roast beef sandwiches, roasted portobello mushroom sandwiches and salads. Southern Frontenac Community Services is preparing the lunch with help from volunteers.
Food Less Travelled in Verona is arranging for beef from a local abattoir. The portobello mushroom sandwiches will be marinated in DFC BBQ Sauce, made locally on Leland Rod. There will be more salads this year and donations are welcome.
For desert Trousdale’s General Store will provide one ice cream cone to all participants. The Public Health Unit will have free reusable water bottles for drinks. Everyone is welcome to bring their own bottles, plates and cutlery to help cut down on waste. Paper plates will also be available.
Come to the Third Annual Lakes and Trails Festival, July 20, 9am to 2pm, and enjoy South Frontenac’s active lifestyle, natural beauty and history. For a full schedule of activities visit the Lakes and Trails web site: https://lakesandtrailsfestival.org/. See you on July 20th.
